Dusting off the hoop

 
My poor, neglected embroidery hoop. How I've replaced you with knitting needles is a shame. Today, whilst listening to the girls play kitties for the thousandth time, I decided to dust off the hoop. Inspired by a little gem I found at the library, Simple Embroidery Designs by Ondori (now out of print), I stitched three bibs for the baby.

A bunny, a lion, and an elephant.

Embroidery is deliciously satisfying because it is quick, easy, yet provides the creative outlet I need daily. There may be some competition in town for my knitting needles...

This was one of Ava's Christmas gifts: her very own stitching kit. She is always so curious as to what I am stitching so I put together her very own super special kit. I was inspired by this post at maya*made. I included two blunt plastic needles, a sturdy embroidery hoop, and pieces of a potato sack. The latter has wide holes, as to make it easier for her to pull the thread through the fabric.

Starting off well....

Getting a little moral support...Ava does very little without Chloe by her side
